Our Family

Board of Directors
One of the unique characteristics that sets St. Mark's Preschool apart is our governing structure.  We are governed by a volunteer parent-based board. Serving on the board is rewarding and a wonderful way to be involved in your child's early education experiences.

Parent Participation Opportunities
Other than serving on the Board of DIrectors, there are numerous opportunities to be involved at St. Mark's Preschool, such as acting as a Class Parent, planning social events, or working with the children on artwork to be available for auction at our annual fundraiser.

Outreach
An integral and much-loved part of the St. Mark's Preschool experience, outreach opportunities are planned for the children and their families on a monthly basis. These voluntary activities include donating to the New Canaan Food Pantry, participating in a Christmas giving tree for an adopted "Angel family", and preparing cookies and Valentine's for our local police officers and firefighters.

Social
St Marks Preschool has a lively and well-attended social program for both parents and families.  In the Fall, the Back to School Picnic is an opportunity to reconnect with friends and spend an enjoyable afternoon on the Great Lawn, and several weeks later the children delight in sharing their classroom on a Saturday morning at Superman Saturday (bring your significant male relative to school!).  In October, little ghosts and goblins grace the halls at our Halloween Parade and party. A Christmas Sing-along and luncheon for children and families is a wonderful way to kick-off the holiday season.  Additionally, there are many opportunities throughout the year for parents to get together such as at class coffees, moms nights out, and our annual Spring Social.
